Welcome to Rento. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rento website, mobile site, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using Rento, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. About Rento

Rento is a rental discovery and booking platform that connects property owners (including flat and PG owners) with students and renters. Rento does not own, operate, or manage any listed property unless explicitly stated.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Rento.
• By using the Platform, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. User Accounts

• Users may be required to provide personal details such as name, phone number, email, and identification for verification.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account details.
• Rento is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from your negligence.

4. Listings & Verification

• All property listings are submitted by property owners.
• Rento makes reasonable efforts to verify listings, but does not guarantee the condition, safety, legality, or availability of any property.
• Photos and descriptions are provided by owners and may vary slightly from actual conditions.

5. Bookings & Payments

For Renters

• Renters make payments to Rento for confirmed bookings.
• Rento collects an amount equivalent to the first 15 days’ rent or half of the first month’s rent, as applicable.
• Any rent beyond this initial period, security deposits, or additional charges are handled directly between the renter and the property owner.
• Rento is not responsible for payment disputes arising after the initial amount collected.

For Property Owners

• Listing a property on Rento is free.
• Upon a successful booking, Rento transfers the collected amount (after applicable service fees) to the property owner.
• Rento’s service fee is equal to the first 15 days’ rent or half of the first month’s rent.
• No upfront listing fees or hidden charges are applied.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellation and refund policies may vary depending on the property.
• Rento may assist in communication but does not guarantee refunds unless explicitly stated.
• Service fees paid to Rento are generally non-refundable once a booking is successfully completed.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or illegal listings or information
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Use the Platform for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to bypass Rento’s payment or fee structure

Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or termination.

8. Owner Responsibilities

Property owners agree to:

• Provide accurate property details and real images
• Honor confirmed bookings
• Comply with local laws and regulations
• Ensure basic habitability and safety of the property

9. Limitation of Liability

• Rento acts only as a technology platform and is not a party to rental agreements between owners and renters.
• Rento shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, theft, or dispute arising from stays booked through the Platform.
• Users agree to use the Platform at their own risk.

10. Termination

Rento reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account:

• For violation of these Terms
• For fraudulent or harmful activity
• Without prior notice, if required to protect the Platform or its users

11. Intellectual Property

All content on Rento, including logos, text, design, and layout, is the property of Rento and may not be copied or used without permission.

12. Changes to Terms

Rento may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts.
